The tenth edition of the Teatro Campoamor lyric Awards, the failure of which was unveiled last November 29, 2015 has brought two new awards to the seasons of OLBE-ABAO in figures of Gregory Kunde and Michel Plasson.
The great and emblematic French teacher has been awarded with the Award Musical direction for his impressive work in Werther Massenet, last January in OLBE-ABAO. An opera of which remain in the memory of all the amateurs where all performances ended with closed and long ovation for the French tenor Roberto Alagna and the masterful direction of Michel Plasson.
The American tenor Gregory Kunde repeats the Campoamor Theater lyric Award for the second time to the best male singer. An award that was awarded in 2013 for his performance in Les vêpres siciliennes Bilbao season and that this year once again for his portrayal of Turiddu)Cavalleria Rusticana) and Canio)Pagliacci) roles that debuted in 62 OLBE-ABAO season.
This year we just enjoy a magnificent Roberto Devereux starring the tenor of Illinois, praised by public and critics:”Kunde was a safe Essex, shining in the Recitative and double cavatina of Act III (Diario Vasco)”; “Gregory Kunde, covered by a voice of formidable push that sounds like a cannon, vibrates the writing of Devereux (Deia)”; “Mastery of style and unquestionable class of Kunde. A master class (Impiccioneviaggiatore. Italy)” “With excellent memories of his performance last year in Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci, the public is delighted again with the extraordinary voice of Gregory Kunde (Ekklektika. France)”.
And we will delight us with the indisputable quality of her extraordinary voice in January 2016 as Il Cavaliere Renato des Grieux in Manon Lescaut Ainhoa Arteta, and on 16 April in the colossal Messa da Requiem accompanied by Angela Meade, Dolora Zajick and Erwin Schrott Verdi.
