NDB: Here we are with a new voice in our serial interview: the Baritone.
M° Colombara, the characteristics of this vocality?
CC: With baritones we cannot speak of vocal range because, whether they are dark or very light, the texture is always better’ or less from the low Ab and for two octaves they reach the high Ab. Some even manage to get to higher notes but it's no use.
NDB: Who did you choose for us this time?
CC: I chose to start from “Dark Baritone”.
The most illustrious? : Look Ruffo ed Ettore Bastianini. Here is Titta Ruffo in the Prologue of the Pagliacci:
